This area north of the Ngorongoro Crater covers 8,500 km². The Masai live in part of the area and coexist peacefully with the wildlife present. Between the great plains, the wooded region of Ndutu and the gorge, the landscapes are magnificent and varied. This region hosts the great migration between December and April.

The lodge is only fifteen kilometers from the crest of the Ngorongoro Crater. This immense crater (20 km in diameter) is without doubt the most famous natural park in the world: a unique landscape sheltering an incredible wealth of animals (lions, elephants, black rhinos, etc.).

Early morning departure before breakfast, accompanied by a Masai warrior, for a hike through the Olduvai Gorge: giraffes, gazelles, ostriches and Masai herds come to drink from the waterholes.

A balloon flight (departing from Ndutu) is also available. The flight takes place early in the morning, at daybreak, and lasts between an hour and an hour and a half. After landing, you'll be served a hearty breakfast in the middle of nature.

The Olduvai site can be explored on foot, walking up and down the walls of the famous gorge. Natural erosion regularly uncovers fossils that bear witness to past eras.

The camp backs onto the great chain of volcanoes (including the Ngorongoro Crater). For good hikers, the ascent of Lemagrut (3,200 m alt.) is a magnificent trek, encountering isolated Masai villages and wildlife everywhere.
